Newfoundland and Labrador is the latest Canadian province to launch its very own online casino.
Set up through the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, which also services the other Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, residents can now play a series of casino games.
This is huge since Newfoundland and Labrador is the only province that historically does not have a single land-based casino.

Newfoundland to Become the 3rd Atlantic Province to Launch an Online Casino
Newfoundland is not the first Canadian province to launch its own government-managed online casino. Ontario, Quebec, British Colombia, and Alberta, have been running an online casino for several years.
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, have only recently adopted the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) website to offer online slots and other casino games.
Newfoundland and Labrador has followed in their footsteps and added casino games to the Atlantic Lottery, providing the first-ever legal gambling platform.
The 4th Atlantic province, Prince Edward Island approved its online casino platform back in 2021, however, it has yet to go live.

As the only entity that is licensed to provide online gambling options, the ALC is committed to take care of player safety.
The operator currently holds Level IV World Lottery Association certification, which is the highest certificate obtainable.
For this reason alone, the government of Newfoundland considered the ALC as the only reasonable option to serve its residents.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s deputy premier and Finance minister, the Hon. Siobhan Coady commented, “As a government, we wish to ensure the safety of residents who engage in online gaming. Atlantic Lottery’s platform provides a responsible alternative for residents who currently have access to hundreds of online gaming sites, none of which are legal or regulated.”

Who is the Atlantic Lottery Corporation
The Atlantic Lottery Corporation is the regulating body for online gambling in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.
The corporation runs a website that allows residents to buy lottery and bingo tickets, as well as, check their lottery numbers.
Recently, an online casino was included with online slots, progressive jackpots, table games and Video Poker, for the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador.
