GiG or Gaming Innovation Group has just partnered up with an Ontario land-based casino to bring them online.
Details of the deal are still scathing as the land-based operator remained unnamed. However, this is not the first Canadian operator GiG transitioned online with the use of their avant-garde Omnichannel platform.
GiG to launch Ontario land-based casino online
GiG has already launched two Ontario-based operators, one of which is King Media Ltd, which is known for its ‘King Billy’ brand.
This new agreement with an unnamed operator is set to go live during the first few months of 2023.
GiG North American General Manager Ben Clemes had this to say about the deal: “I am really excited to sign the head of terms with a land-based partner that has been successfully operating in the Ontario market for many decades. Their land-based presence gives GiG the opportunity to showcase the power of our proven OMNI solution alongside our full product catalog including Casino, Sports, and our Frontend solution.”(Source)
Ontario iGaming in Trouble!
With the regularization of iGaming in Ontario, the North American market became one of the fastest growing in the world.
However, not everything in the province is going smoothly! The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake has filed a constitutional challenge with the Ontario Superior Court against iGaming Ontario and the local attorney-general.
The council has argued that the regulation of iGaming is unconstitutional. It added that betting and gaming are only legal in Canada if provided and managed by a provincial government. This is no longer the case for Ontario!
The Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake is familiar with seasoned players as it is the only Canadian entity that legalized offshore online casinos before Ontario legalized its market.
Who is GiG?
Founded in 2008 and based in Malta, GiG offers land-based operators a platform and cloud-based services through highly adaptive, innovative technology.
The company boasts over 600 employees and is considered a market leader in iGaming.
The legalization of iGaming in Ontario has provided GiG with plenty of opportunities to showcase its capabilities in bringing Canadian operators online.
